A team of health professionals comprising of four general nurses, two breast nurses, led by Dr. Andzie-Mensah, Senior Resident, Orthopedics Department of the Korle- Bu Teaching Hospital, under the instruction of the Prison Ministry of Ghana organised a medical screening at the Nsawam Female Prison on 15th April, 2023.

Inmates with High Blood Pressure, Abnormal blood sugar and low Hemoglobin are on treatment and will be reviewed every month.
Breast lumps were also detected in two inmates. Arrangements have been made to have an ultrasound scan of the breast for further evaluation.
