DESCRIPTION:PRISON MINISTRY OF GHANA BIENNIAL RETREAT FROM 5TH – 7TH SEPTEMBER\, 2025. \nTHEME: “QUICKEN US” PSALM (80:18b) \nDear Beloved-in Christ\, \nThe Peace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. \nWe are happy to announce that this year’s Biennial Retreat is scheduled from Friday 5th to Sunday 7th September\, 2025 at the Presbyterian Women’s Centre\, Abokobi\, to deliberate on issues relating to the welfare of the prisoners in Ghana. \nTo be themed “QUICKEN US” PSALM (80:18b)\, the Biennial Retreat is organised for some selected Ghana Prisons Service Officers-in-charge (OICs) and Chaplains as well as members of the Prison Ministry of Ghana. \nJust as at such retreats we have organized previously\, we shall review our programme and activities in the past. We shall further plan for the future of the ministry. DESCRIPTION:PRISON MINISTRY OF GHANA RETREAT: 2023 \nWith the improved understanding and management systems now available for COVID-19 matters\, the Prison Ministry of Ghana (PMG) is organizing the 2023 Biennial Retreat for its members\, Ghana Prisons Service officers\, and major church and other partners and collaborators. \nTo be themed “Building in the strength of the Lord” (2 Chronicles 16:9a)\, the retreat will be held at the Presbyterian Women’s Centre at Abokobi on 22nd – 24th September\, 2023. \nAs usual at such retreats we have organized previously\, we shall review our programme and activities in the past especially as affected by the imperatives of COVID-19. We shall take stock of our achievements\, challenges and discuss how to improve on our activities to the benefit of the inmates. \nWe also expect to launch the commencement of our third decade as a Ministry. In attendance will be our International Partners. \nWe look forward to listening to the views and individual experience of participants in our joint effort to provide spiritual and material needs for the inmates.

DESCRIPTION:The Prison Ministry of Ghana on 1st February\, 2022\, will commission its new solar-powered irrigation system at the site of the Halfway Home\, Kasunya.\nWith the availability of water and electrical power\, the Ministry can now bring into residence discharged prison inmates as an essential step in their reformation and re-integration into the larger society.\n\nThe project financiers\, GIZ and DENG Ghana Ltd.\, shall have top-level representation at the ceremony\, the project being the first of its kind in the nation.\nLawyer Sam Okudzeto\, member of the Council of State and former chairman of the Prisons Service Council\, shall commission the system for service.

SUMMARY:Appeal For 2021 Christmas Day Celebration With Inmates
DESCRIPTION:The Ministry’s annual Christmas celebration with the inmates is one of the highlights of our Ministry\, to witness effectively to our brothers and sisters behind bars and to give them the assurance that they are not forgotten as our vision for the Ministry states: “I was in prison and you came to visit me” says our Lord Jesus (Matthew 25:36). \n  \nChristmas day is a lonely day for the prisoner and without our message of “Peace on earth and mercy mild; God and sinners reconciled”\, Christmas day could be miserable! The celebration of our Lord’s birth will be more meaningful if we join hands once again\, and send cooked food and items e.g. bags of rice\, bags of flour\, biscuits\, cooking oil\, soft drinks\, tin fish\, boxes of carbolic soap\, toothpastes\, toothbrushes etc. to the prisoners. \n  \nThe total budget for the Christmas party with our brothers and sisters behind the confines of the prisons nationwide is GHC 128\,777.25. Cash or cheque donations to meet the various expenses would be greatly appreciated. Donations can be made at the National Office or into our Absa bank Gh. account no. 48/2488390 or Ecobank account no. 1441002143508 or mobile money no. 0245014186. The office will also be available to pick your donation from your location should you choose. All donations and contributions will be duly receipted and acknowledged. \n  \nWe count on your support for a successful celebration and effective ministration of Our Lord’s birth on Christmas day. DESCRIPTION:The Biennial Retreat is organized for Prison Services Officers-in-charge (OICs) and Chaplains from all Prisons in Ghana as well as the Regional/District chairpersons and secretaries of the Prison Ministry of Ghana. The purpose of the retreat is to review our operations for the past two years\, take stock of our achievements\, challenges and discuss how to improve on our activities to the benefit of the inmates. \nHowever\, due to the Covid-19 situation in the country\, we are sorry to announce that this year’s Biennial Retreat has been canceled. While we are still as dedicated as ever to providing the spiritual and material needs for the inmates\, it is also our responsibility to help flatten the coronavirus curve and to keep you safe. \nPlease accept our sincerest apologies for any inconveniences this may cause. However\, we will give further communications as it is available in the coming months. \n  \nWe also take this opportunity to thank you all once again for funding\, volunteering\, and advocating for the Prison Ministry of Ghana throughout the years\, and especially at a time when all of us are facing challenges and everything feels uncertain.
